OK I just ordered mine. Here is some info on my tank: Bad pictures first: Some post scrubbing shots: All clean: Sump rebuild after crack. Not done yet... Have to make the new one with baffles This is just the temp until I get it made. Once I et it in I will do unpacking pics and some install pics. Then I will try to do a few pics a week until I get it running 'as designed'. Questions comments? Ohhh 180g DT with 40g sump.
OK yall are going to beat me, bann me, sequestor me... LOL I was bad!!! I did not clean it for 4 weeks. Here are the pictures:
It had grown into adult hood. It had the consistency of that foam insulation they put in a car, that has sat for 10 years, and you push on it and you can feel and hear it crack. It just pulled apart.
Normally I would say that you need to at least shut the light off for 2-4 hours/day...but you can't argue with that much growth in 7 days man, that is amazing. I see more and more of a pattern of growth like this correlating to a diversity of life in the tank in which it is installed on, as well as a diversity of other filtration methods. But, in reading your RC thread I am glad to hear that your multi-faceted attack on your GHA seems to be working! Your tank looks great!
HAHA.. Thanks.. In regards to the 24hr... I had it set to a 6 on/off schedule. So it would run 12 hours out of the day, twice a day. My gha was still growing at the time. So I upped the schedule. Back in Aug I purchased a Sea Hare and it started to take care of the GHA. My growth increased, as the scrubber was now taking the bio load. My 24hr cycle, since it is still exporting the nutrients, will remain until I see a noticeable reduction. Current feeding is 2-3 cubes once a day. Mysis copepods squid.
