I imagine the reds are 660nm, so it should do well.
It is probably about the right wattage for the screen size, but thats hard to tell without any info.
To initially get the algae started & spreading over the entire screen you may need to increase the distance between the light & screen.
A start up screen needs a lower intensity. Once the right algae is spreading, the light can be moved closer, increasing the intensity.

By the photos you've already purchased & installed the light, so, let us know how it works out.

    Hi,

Thanks very much for the info ... I think I can see something forming on the screen.

Was about to start dosing liquid phosphate remover in order to control problem algae but now I think I will wait.

    Thanks again.

You'll probably get some dinos growing first- brown stuff, then slimey dark green stuff before an emerald green algae, most likely some type of stringy Ulva.

Don't use phosphate remover unless the levels are extremely high.. You want po4 in the water for algae to grow.

    That's what I was thinking ..

My p04 is less than .05ppm with hannah checker.

I also have a lot of green turf algae on back glass and rocks was wondering if this would be chewing up the p04 ?? Affecting the reading ?

Thanks again for the info .. I will keep thread updated with progress

The hair algae in your tank will definately take up po4 & everything else.
If your ats is efficient, once the screen has matured it will out compete the display hair algae & it will disappear.

Just noticed you're in Aus, beaudy mate ;)

    Hi

Just an update .. I am starting to get like a red fuzz and some darker red stringy stuff
    on the screen.

Is this normal ? Do I need to trim it back to help it grow ? Or just leave it ...

    Thanks.

Will post photos if ya think helpful.

    Ryan.

    Hi there

.. so have a lot of red algae growth
Was wondering do I trim the red back in order for the green to take over or will it "mature " into green ??

    Thanks for any advice .

Sorry for the delay - was out of state for a week

It's pretty hard to judge anything when the growth is just starting to kick in. The screen will go through many changes as it matures.
