Hey Bud,

I got the Rev4 L2 ATS today.

The screen was definitely dried out but didn't seem to be cracking or anything. I have it soaking in a bowl of tap water now. Wanted to start a thread so that this is documented in case anyone else has this issue.

I am hoping to not have to re-mortar it if I don't have to. How long do you think I need to soak it for?

How do you think I will know if it was successfully "rehydrated"?

Thanks!

I had my L2 set up on my 90 gallon reef tank for over a year with a nice algae mat until 3 weeks ago. I have my unit on a secondary loop in my sump with a separate pump. I turned off the pump to do my weekly cleaning, got interrupted and you guessed it--I forgot to turn the pump back on. Didn't notice it until the following week, by which time the algae was a dead moldy mass. I used the scraper to remove the dead stuff off the surface of the screen and put it back in, hoping I would get some...
Why is that? Not enough light?
My tank is Fallow right now, I am waiting to get my fish in until first week of Sept but I am feeding a cube a day to the tank

On the slot pipe, make sure that the water creep blockers, which are the sections of airline hose with a zip-tie through them, are rotated such that the airline hose is centered on the bottom edge of the pipe.

This only applies to the first batch or so of Rev 2 scrubbers I sent out. I have more recently been using 3" of hose instead of 1". Feel free to cut the old airline hose water blockers off, and install longer sections of hose.

One of them is a hose barb adapters, meant to be attached to the outlet of the pump so that a 3/4" ID hose can be used. DO NOT push the hose directly on to the pump outlet and zip-tie it - this is not a strong connection, and the pump can force the connection to pop off.

Remember to remove the false bottom during each cleaning. This will ensure that proper flow through to the drain is maintained

When your screen is growing heavily, the algae strands will get long, and these strands will extend under the false bottom. When you remove the screen, strands can detach and will end up floating in the water in the bottom of the box.

Use a soft-bristled brush to remove any algae from the bottom of the box. When I say "remove", it's really "snagging" the...
