7 days growth from my Atlantis 2 ATS. I have hit 300grammes harvest for the first time and I think it's time to remove the light defusers.I have included a pic of the screen after I have cleaned it right back. Amazing amount of growth I think you may agree. Roll on the next 7 days.
Looks like you're getting some GHA mixed in with the ulva now, that's good. Screen looks nice and mature! I'm sure that you noticed that the scrubber took off very fast. Since you already had a scrubber on the tank before this one, my observation/opinion is that your tank was "conditioned" so switching out the scrubber/screen resulted in a shorter ramp-up time. I've seen that personally several times, and had many others report the same effect
Well yes, however my Seabreeze ATS only ever grew a short thick mat algae and my NO3 went from 5ppm to 25ppm using it. Within a week my Atlantis 2 was growing the Ulva you see. I did rub some Ulva all over the screen and got some very small bits to stock to the screen, even so it was enough to seed the screen. Surprisingly a friend of mine also installed an Atlantis and never had an ATS on his tank before, he seeded the screen as I did and the Ulva also took off for him. I do have a mix of algae growing but mainly the Ulva. I have a type of GHA but the strands are noticeably thicker than that I have experienced growing on any of the 4 previously ATS's I have used before two of which were DIY and 2 of which were a Santa Monica HOG2 and a Surf2. Seems seeding the screen gives the ATS a great kick start.
