Hi all, used to post over on the place....

I've setup a waterfall style overflow fed scrubber with a submerged screen attached (like Garf tried).

The screen is lit from either style as per normal but has anybody ran tests with each side being lit at different times?

I'm going to try lighting one side from 5pm to 3am and then the other from 1am to 11am. So 10 hours each side.

I don't know that it makes a lot of difference if you split the photoperiod up between sides. It's more important that you are actually lighting both sides, even if it's staggered.

If you are seeing photosaturation (zero growth in the higher intensity areas) then staggering the lighting should help the screen get started. But if you aren't seeing this, then staggering lighting would tend to stretch out your daily growth cycle a bit.
