I am looking to purchase a scrubber and would like to know the differences between the L3, L4, and L5 scrubbers... cannot seem to find anything that tells why there is a $100 increase per number

    The units available are the L2 which is for 2 cubes/day capacity, L3 = 3 cubes/day, L4= 4 cubes/day.

The larger the unit, the more LEDs and the larger the heat sink. That is the main cost difference, but the acrylic box is larger also.

If you scroll to the footer and click on "ordering information" there are links for a lot of information. I'll post them here when I get home so you can get to them easily - out and about right now

    The video in this thread:

is the most up to date version

show details of the scrubber, the one in the pic is the L4.

in the "previous versions" subsection here: https://www.algaescrubbing.com/forums/previous-versions.36/ you can see the main difference between the L2, L3, and L4 are the physical size: number of LED, size of heat sink, size of growth chamber.

The only differences between the Rev 2 (previous version) and the Rev 3 (current version, in the video and the banners from MACNA) are:

    Threaded drains (and larger)
Threaded inlet plumbing for slot pipe (it is fully enclosed in the unit)
    Warp-free lid
    Modified false bottom
LEDs mounted on metal-core PCB with jumpers between pairs for intensity adjustment

There are many benefits to these changes and I'm sorry that I haven't put them all together in one thread. Honestly this past year has been flat out the busiest of my life - work, family, birthdays, holidays, illness, tragedy - you name it, this year it happened. My backlog grew to the point where I had no motivation to make it worse by marketing.

But things have turned and I am in production and moving forward. You will see www.turbosaquatics.com up again with full product details in the very near future. If i have time tomorrow, I can post some more product pics here in this thread but right now I have to spend the short free 30 minutes I have in the garage working on a scrubber.
