I'll be increasing my level of Algae Scrubber production significantly over the next couple weeks. Now is the time to get in line if you've been on the fence about getting one of my scrubbers!

This is due to a bit of an unfortunate circumstance related to my day job. Or, it could turn out to be just the kick in the behind that was needed.

The "Slot Pipe" is one of the key components of an Algae Scrubber. The purpose is to create a thin, laminar sheet of water flow across both sides of the growth substrate, typically the #7 Plastic Canvas (knitting canvas).

The problem is, it's kind of tricky to get a nice and straight cut in a piece of PVC pipe, especially if you're not a DIY person. Even if you manage to pull it off fantastically, it tends to close up over time. Schedule 80 pipe is better than Schedule 40, but it still...

Anyone who follows Turbo's Aquatics on Facebook might have already seen this...

Update! I just got word that my new Metal-Core PCBs (LED boards and custom driver boards) should be done next week, then they're off to Steve's LEDs for component mounting. I've been out of these for over a month now and the waiting list is piling up, but the wait will soon be over...at least for those at the top of the list! The new LED board uses...

The next revision of my Turbo Algae Scrubbers will be finalized very soon. I still have Rev 2 parts in stock, but have decided that I will stop production of that version in favor of the new design.

As of now, I have dubbed the Rev 3 the Turbo HF, which stands for High Flow.

The Rev 3 will feature the following improvements:

- Slot pipe is fully enclosed inside the box
- Slot pipe will be easy to clean, inside and out
- Slot pipe is indirectly connected to pump, so that the pump will not...
